Thomas Bums (nephew of the poet, Robert Burns)

Thomas Burns He came out at the Disruption, and was for some time minister of Portobello Free Church. In conjunction with Captain Cargill and others, he projected a Free Church settlement in Otago, New Zealand, and sailed from Greenock in the end of 1847 as minister of the first body of settlers. He afterwards became minister of the Scottish Church in Dunedin, and died there in the 75th year of his age, on the 23rd January, 1871, leaving a widow with one son and six daughters

Sacred to the memory of Henrietta Fergusson Dill eldest daughter of the Reverend John Milroy minister of this parish and wife of John Black Dill writer in Glasgow. Died 06 Aug 1861 aged 27yrs. “With Christ which is far better” Phil.i.23

Obelisk: In memory of Katherine Robina youngest daughter of the Revd. John Milroy b. 05 Dec 1843 d. 07 May 1870 also of Euphemia Catherine his fourth daughter and wife of Archibald Watson Esq.  Hampton Lodge Bristol b. 08 Nov 1841 d 13 Nov 1872.    

Sacred to the memory of the Revd John Milroy for nearly 40 years minister of this parish of Ballantrae  d. 20 Nov 1869 in the 80th year of his age. 

Erected by all classes of his parishioners and by his many friends as a sincere expression of affection and respect they bore to him and of the deep which they lament his loss.

In memory of Margaret Gordon wife of the Revd. John Milroy b. 18 Jun 1806 d 18 Jan 1860 Also his third daughter Isabella Brown Milroy d at Kirkcudbright 27 April 1908 Also his second daughter Margaret Jane Gordon Milroy d. at Kirkcudbright 26 May 1909.

Dudley Fox

The Rev G D A Fox was ordained at Ballantrae on 21 September 1972 and left for Kelso Old Parish in February 1982.

Rev Bob Bell

The Reverend Robert P Bell came to Ballantre on 20th January 1998 .He and his wife Irene soon settled in and became a part of village life.

Bob enjoyed an excellent ministry at Ballantrae and he retired to live in Prestwick in February 2007.

Bob Bell passed away on Saturday 22 March 2008.

Rev Stephen Ogston

Stephen and his family came to the village in 2009 to become the minister of the recently created charge of Ballantrae Parish Church linked with St Colmon Parish Church. He was very active in the churches and communities, and enjoyed his time with us.

They moved to Luce Valley Church in August 2017
